Hospital Visit and Indiana Trip. Those two events alone have kept us busy.
About two weeks ago Eli started crying and was inconsolable. We thought he could be teething so we gave him Motrin, however the crying continued for over a day. This prompted us to take him the emergency room since it was a weekend. After nothing presented itself in their routine tests, his neurologist Dr. Kojic had him observed for 36 hours. They did this through a Video EEG machine. So Eli had all kinds of wires coming out of his head for two days. He did okay and did have the episodes we were concerned about. However, the neurologist could not find a linkage between his seizures and the crying. So, since they basically could not find anything wrong with him, they just increased his seizure and spasm medication. And, let me tell a miracle was worked. Eli stopped crying and was back to his happy self. Who really knows what was causing him so much pain….but it is gone, and we are very grateful for that.
Then Eli and Mom jumped on a plane to Indianapolis, Indiana. I know you are thinking WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU GO TO INDIANA. But, it was very nice. My mom was there on vacation so we joined her for three days. We stopped by the Vera Bradley outlet sale and had way too much fun. Eli did great on the plane. He only cried for like two minutes on the landing on the way there and on the way back he slept the whole time. He is a very good traveler!!! While there, I also meet up with an old friend and got to meet her son whom I have never got to meet (he was born two weeks before Eli).
Eli also stared his aquatic therapy and did great. Eli, The Ladies Man, distracted all of the older ladies at the “Y” during their water aerobics; they keep staring at him and told me over and over “he is sooo cute”.
He should be getting his first round of Botox shots later this month and will be visiting Bascom Palmer again for another eye evaluation. I will keep you updated on that.
